The Fast Track Review Process at IJDIR provides an accelerated pathway for manuscripts that require expedited handling. This service is designed for research that is clinically urgent, time-sensitive (e.g., reporting on emerging disease patterns, novel implant complications), or has been requested for rapid publication by the authors for legitimate scientific reasons.

Manuscripts accepted for fast track review receive a first editorial decision within 15 working days of submission, compared to the standard 26-day preliminary screening period.
Eligibility Criteria
The Fast Track option is available to all manuscript types submitted to IJDIR. However, priority is given to:
- Case reports documenting rare or novel dental implant complications or outcomes
- Clinical trials with significant public health implications
- Research relating to emerging dental technologies or biomaterials
- Manuscripts addressing urgent clinical questions in implant dentistry
- Short communications reporting critical preliminary findings

Fast Track status does not guarantee acceptance. All manuscripts undergo the same rigorous double-blind peer review process. Only the speed of processing is expedited — not the standards of evaluation.
Fast Track Process
The fast track workflow follows these steps:
- Request Submission: Authors request fast track at the time of manuscript submission by selecting the Fast Track option and providing a brief justification (maximum 150 words) in the covering letter.
- Editorial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief reviews the fast track request within 2 working days and approves or declines based on eligibility.
- Priority Assignment: Approved manuscripts are flagged as high priority and assigned to reviewers immediately.
- Accelerated Review: Reviewers are given a compressed deadline of 10 days (versus standard 21 days).
- Editorial Decision: A decision is communicated to the corresponding author within 15 working days of submission.
- Rapid Publication: Accepted manuscripts are published online within 15 days of final acceptance and payment of APCs.

Additional Charges
An additional fast track processing fee applies, over and above the standard Article Processing Charge (APC). This fee covers the priority handling, expedited reviewer coordination, and accelerated production process.
The fast track fee will be communicated upon approval of the fast track request. Waiver requests for the fast track fee may be considered on a case-by-case basis for authors from low-income countries.
